On Sunday, August 18, Milton will host the annual Arts and Crafts Fair and Chicken BBQ on the grounds of the historic Milton House Museum and neighboring North Goodrich Park. The Milton Historical Society and Milton Area Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MACCIT) co-host this event.
Starting at 11 a.m., theAir Products MACCIT Chicken BBQ begins in North Goodrich Park. Visitors can stop by and enjoy a chicken meal, hot dogs or brats. A variety of other booths and activities will take place in the park during the day. The rain date for the Air Products MACCIT Chicken BBQ and Concert in the Park is the following Sunday, August 26 in North Goodrich Park.
The Arts and Crafts fair will once again be juried, in which vendors are required to provide photographs of raw materials and themselves working their product, as well as examples of their work. This is done to ensure vendors are selling a product which they have created. Already, the Milton Historical Society has seen a positive reaction to this change. Artists and Crafters will be on hand selling their unique creations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds surrounding the Milton House. Tours of this historic site will also be given at reduced rates. The Arts & Craft Fair is being held rain or shine.
The MACCIT Raffle drawing will take place again as well. The MACCIT Raffle offers 3 chances to win, with a $2,500 cash grand prize. All proceeds go to MACCIT and assist with Milton Tourism & Economic Development. “When purchasing a MACCIT raffle ticket you are making an investment in your own local community. All proceeds from the raffle benefit Milton through economic development and tourism efforts.” says Terry Williamson, MACCIT’s Tourism and Events Committee Chair.
